The Stay

three rooms for guests who ride with us

Available to riders with a confirmed booking

The house has three rooms, kept for guests who are riding with us. They are not open to other travellers. Most guests arrive the evening before so they can start early and unhurried. Others stay on after an evening trail ride.

There is no reception desk and no online availability. Tell us which room you would like and for which night. We reply by email with confirmation and directions, just as we do for riding.

Single · The quietest

The willow room

Overlooks the lower water. A single bed, a writing desk, a pleated lamp beneath a gilt mirror, and ink drawings of the estate on the walls. It is the quietest room in the house, and the best choice if you are travelling alone.

Nearest the stables

The south chamber

Looks out onto the stable yard. A bed, a lamp, and the shortest walk to the horses. Riders who like to be up and dressed before an early session usually choose it. It is not the largest room, but it is the closest to the stables.

For two

The cottage

A small separate house on the inner lane, for two guests who ride together. It has its own sitting room with a chest of drawers, a mirror and a chair by the window, and a fire in the colder months. It is a few steps from the main house, with the same service.
